Tonight you need to complete the Vocabulary Maps for the following terms:
Geography; Relative Location; Absolute Location; Latitude; Longitude; Geologist; Delta; Barrier Islands; Elevation; Bays; Fall Line; Erosion.
There are twelve terms. You will need two of the Vocabulary Map handouts, you recieved this in class. If you run out or if you make a mistake you can create your own or you can follow the link on this webpage http://readingquest.org/strat/wordmap.html you can find the handout here, however you will need to look for it, and it is only one per page, not three per page. This will be the a twenty point grade in the gradebook.
Tonight for Homework you need to complete the Cornell Style Notes.
You have already taken the notes, all you need to do now is write AT LEAST five questions that can be answered by your notes in the outside margins of your pages. This is AT LEAST Five for your total notes, not for each page.
Next you need to write ONE three to five sentence summary at the end of your notes that summarize your notes. Again, this is one summary for all of your notes, not one for each page.
This will be a 15 point assignment.
You will also need to finish the elevations worksheet before tomorrow, while this worksheet will not be a grade, if it is not completed before class tomorrow, you will not be able to start the Region Mapping Activity, which will be graded.
Tonight you need to finish measuring and shading in the Coastal Zone in light blue. You then need to find all of the towns in the columns and shade the name of the town in, in the appropriate color, outer coastal zone = light green, inner coastal zone = light orange, Piedmont = yellow, don’t worry about the Blue Ridge tonight we will get that tomorrow. Use the index on the right side of your map to easily find the cities and towns with the map grid.
If you missed any homework that was due today, you need to have it tomorrow, because after tomorrow you will not get any points for it.
Yes, but just lightly color a mark over the town/city on the map, don’t actually color in the whole thing, we are going to complete the maps in class tomorrow.
When I walked around the room I was checking the homework, I try to not collect notes from you because if I have them you can’t use them to study. If I didn’t say anything to you, you probably received full credit, check with me tomorrow.
Tonight you need to add the sandhills and the map key information to your maps (all but 5th period) and you need to read chapter three section one of the text, use the online book http://www.mystatehistory.com, and complete the literature circles activity that I gave you (number 1,2,3,4)
