1. South Carolina Land Regions/South Carolina Aquarium
a. You need to go to the Aquarium and study the different land regions and the flora and fauna that are found there. Then you need to make a brochure that advertises tourism in each of the regions.
2. Early Native Americans – Use the internet to research Native Americans from the pre-projectile point horizon that were in South Carolina (Topper and other locations). Write a five paragraph essay on the artifacts that have been found and what these artifacts tell us about the early native Americans in South Carolina. Include a works cited pages for the websites that you use.
3. Research the Native Americans who lived in the area when the Europeans arrived and write a historical fiction about the life of a Native American around the time when Europeans arrived. Include a list of sources and references that you used. As a historical fiction, this should be at least 10-12 paragraphs.
If you choose to complete any of these, they are due not later than Monday September 21st, by Midnight if submitted by email, or by the end fo the school day if submitted in hard copy.
To answer these questions you will need to read Articles 95, 110 and 116.

2. Who has absolute authority over an owner’s slaves?
3. What is required of men between the ages of 17 and 60?
Now that you have answered these questions write a paragraph about what these articles of the Fundamental Constitutions of Carolina tell us about what the Lords Proprietors wanted from the colony.
This will be worth 15 points and is due on September 16th, the half day.
